These are the initial character deisgns for the balloon. As you can see, the only difference between the two balloon designs is that the colour of the balloon changes to red and frown lines appear on the balloon, making it look angry.
The design of the balloons had to be kept simple as I felt that overcomplicating the balloon's design would detract from the sinister feel when the balloon changes state in the animatic.
